Some Characterizations of Electrical and Thermal Properties of Pyrocatechol Violet

Abstract

Room temperature x- ray powder diffraction pattern reveals that the structure is monoclinic Infrared spectra was used check the functional groups. Thermal analysis technique indicates that the compound undergoes a structural phase transition at  308K. Moreover, the complex dielectric permittivity ε*(ε *= έ - jє˝) and the ac conductivity are measured as function of temperature (100K <T < 400K) and at some selected frequencies The data indicate that the frequency dependent conductivity seems to be in accordance with the power law The charge transport mechanism follows the quantum mechanical tunneling (QMT) model.
